Hamburg, NY: 200 Years and Counting

Buffalo Suburb Celebrates Heritage and History

Hamburg turned 200 over the weekend, and we were there to celebrate.  West Herr chairman Brad Hafner was Grand Marshal for the parade which lead the celebration. 

"I love Hamburg, many of my good friends live here.  The people here simply are great," Hafner said. "I was honored to be a part of it."

Hafner has been a Hamburg resident for more than 80 years.  

Known for his sense of humor Hafner quipped, "I think they asked me to do this because I'm tall and they know my long arms would make for some good waving."   

Aside from the parade the celebration included rides, fireworks, a chicken dinner and live entertainment. All in all it was a great day for the community and it's people.   

West Herr has two locations in Hamburg, West Herr Ford and West Herr Chevy.  The Hamburg community has been amazing to us and we are honored to have been a part of it for so long.  We look forward to many more years in Hamburg.
