The Car Built By Social Media

When consumers talk about what they value in a company or brand, one of the first things they mention is that the company will listen. With Nissan's newest project, they're not only listening, but implementing suggestions as well. ![]()
For construction of the 2013 370Z, Nissan will rely on input from their Facebook fans to craft their car to their fans' liking. Now THAT is truly crowdsourcing isn't it?
"Car companies build project vehicles all the time, but we thought it’d be interesting to harness the power of social media to reach out to Z enthusiasts--the people who are doing this to their own cars everyday,” said Vice President of Nissan Marketing, Jon Brancheau.
The Car Connection reported from the Chicago Auto Show that customers can make suggestions on the Nissan facebook page, and whichever design modifications get the most likes and comments will actually be used in the car.
That's impressive to say the least. For a look at Nissan vehicles in Buffalo, visit West Herr Nissan today!
