Buffalo Goes Green
Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 2:13PM Buffalo is now equipped to handle electric vehicles!
Today, mayor Byron Brown gave a press conference Downtown at the Buffalo Niagara medical campus to show off the 21 new electric charging stations.
Backed by members of the medical campus, members of local and federal government and funded partially by the AAA, this is the first major installation of electric vehicle charging stations in WNY.
A West Herr Chevy Volt was on hand as well as West Herr representatives Tom Bull, sales associate, product specialist Ricky Noe, and Rich Wilkinson the General Manager of West Herr Chevy in Orchard Park.
Dennis Mazzoni, the district manager from Chevrolet to come see the launch of this Grass roots event.
"It was great to be a part of the launch and unveiling of this electric vehicle charging station," Wilkinson said. "This technology is going to be the way of the future and the Buffalo/Niagara medical campus leading the charge is absolutely cutting edge and a great step for growing the electric vehicle market!”
This is great news for the city and we're happy to be a part of it!
