THE Mobile Food Truck

Nissan To Launch A Vehicle Specifically For Mobile Food Business

Food trucks.  A hot topic in Buffalo and the rest of the country these days.  Locally we've seen our friends at Where's Lloyd take off, and now Nissan is looking to help out current and future food truckers.

Nissan will launch the NV van with food truck proprietors in mind. They recently unveiled the NV and used two L.A. food trucks to showcase it's abilities.

“It’s definitely smaller – lower height, shorter, more compact,” said CoolHaus CEO Natasha Case to the LA Times, “and in the food truck industry, this space compression really helps being able to park and participate in smaller venues. Say a venue has space for 10 trucks plus a half, we can now be that half.”

Now, this vehicle isn't meant ONLY for food trucks, but it certainly would be a good purchase for anyone looking ot get into the industry.

What makes the NV unique is that Nissan will provide an outfitting service- they will build and install up to 60 square feet of graphics, chosen by the buyer, onto the vehicle.

According to the LA times, Americans are expected to spend $630 million on food this year from mobile vendors, according to the National Restaurant Assn. That's up from $608 million in 2010.

Crazy right?  So good thing Nissan sees value in this growing trend!
