Chevy Showing Full Confidence In Preparation For Cruze Launch
It's not everyday you see a company implore customers to try out their competitors products. Chevrolet is so confident in their soon to be released Cruze that they're trying out the risky approach. They've asked dealers to keep other cars from the same class on hand for potential buyers to drive.
"We expect buyers to come away with a favorable view of the Cruze," said Margaret Brooks, Chevrolet small-car marketing director.
Brooks said Chevrolet plans a major advertising and marketing blitz for the Cruze, although she declined to give details of the campaign or its budget.
The Cruze earned maximum scores in European front- and side-crash tests. U.S. crash tests have not taken place. The Cruze comes standard with 10 airbags.
The Cruze Eco model is expected to get a segment-leading 40 mpg on the highway according to Chuck Russell, Cruze vehicle line director. The Eco model is powered by a turbocharged, 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a standard six-speed manual transmission.
"We set out to redefine the compact segment by offering customers more of the features they want for less money than comparably equipped competitive models,” said Brooks. “The Cruze offers significantly more value than the competition – and the vehicle it replaces -- with standard equipment that is appreciated by today's consumers.”
These are just some of the standard features that come with the Cruze LS:
- Power windows
- OnStar with Turn-by-Turn Navigation
- XM Radio with three-month trial subscription
- Telescoping steering wheel
- 6-speaker stereo system
- Rear side impact and knee airbags
- Passenger seat height adjustment
- 60/40 split folding rear seat
