Must Love Dogs? Kia Does
Monday, August 23, 2010 at 12:39PM Kia Soul Voted One of the Top Vehicles For Dogs
The Kia Soul is known for the famous hip hop hamster ads, but the Soul is also friendly to other furry creatures. The AAA recently ranked the top vehicles for dogs and the Kia Soul appeared on the list.
"More than 45 million households in the U.S. have a dog, and many are taking Fido along for the ride on a regular basis," said John Nielsen, AAA National Director of Auto Repair and Buying Services. "There are several vehicles with features that can help keep pets safe, comfortable and easy to clean-up after while also addressing other driver desires such as sportiness, adventure or luxury."![]()
AAA Auto Buying's team of experts selected vehicles for a wide variety of factors including: crash test ratings, safety features, fuel economy, ease of animal ingress and egress, cargo size area, availability of tie-down hooks and easy-to-clean interiors.
The Soul was praised for it's size and space, particularly for smaller to mid size dog breeds. AAA specifically praised the after market accessories available with the Soul. Kia and pet owners would benefit from the thick, heavy-duty mats and pet-resistant seat covers.
"We are happy that the Soul is able to offer owners a little extra piece of mind while they are transporting their dogs,"said Michael Sprague, vice president, marketing & communications, KMA.
The Kia Soul is reaping in all sorts of accolades. It was recently named a "Top Safety Pick" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and one of the "Best Family Cars" by Edmunds.com.
